Happy Friday Corner Carvers!
We are entering the season of seemingly endless darkness in the Pacific Northwest (accurate depiction of the 4 seasons in Seattle) when all but the bravest (i.e. craziest) souls put their bikes away for the season and go into a deep, vitamin-D-deficient state of hibernation dreaming about warmer days.
In a feeble attempt to fill the void we take to the internet and start reading motorcycle articles, watching motorcycle videos and pondering new upgrades to make to our bikes in the off-season.
So let me see if I can give you something to look forward to and something to inspire you in these dark times.
First, I am working on a new series, tentatively titled 2 Wheels Moves the Soul where I will be interviewing riders with the goal of discovering the deeper experience and connection we all share with this sport.
“Four wheels moves the body, two wheels moves the soul.”
You have probably heard the saying “Four wheels moves the body, two wheels moves the soul”. I want to delve deeper into people’s stories and find out what it is that creates the brotherhood of riders to which we are welcomed into the instant we throw a leg over for our first ride.
Riding means different things to different people. For some it is an escape from the stresses of life, for some an adventure, for some a community, and for some it is all this and more. What is it to you? Why do YOU ride?
Stay tuned for the first installment coming soon from a local rider who is struggling through difficult circumstances, being upheld by the riding community, and conquering her fears and sharing her inspirational journey along the way.
Finally, I will leave you with this video of a historic battle involving the greatest racer in MotoGP history. I get goosebumps every time I watch it! Enjoy!
Thanks for reading and ride safe!
